¿PUEDEN BEBER AGUA DEL GRIFO LOS BEBÉS?
Novice parents may make some parenting mistakes with the good intention of wanting to give their children their best.
One of the most common mistakes is to think that tap wbater is not good for babies.
From the age of six months, when babies can drink water, many parents always go with a bottle of mineral water and even prepare the baby’s powdered milk or chips with bottled water, always thinking it’s what’s best for their child, but this isn’t the best choice!
Giving bottled water may be harmful, considering that it may contain mycoplastics and toxic derivatives, such as bisphenol A, which may be harmful to your baby’s health.
Babies can drink tap water because, in many cases, it is healthier and more treated than bottled water. In Spain, the requirements to ensure the quality of the water we drink are duly regulated by the local authorities and there are all the necessary guarantees for its consumption.
It should be borne in mind that there may be some specific areas where, due to intensive farming and livestock farming, the nitrate level may be too high for the youngest. But this does not happen in Spain’s tap water that comes from the supply, as it is properly treated.
OMS recommends that nitrate concentrations should be below 10 mg/l in waters suitable for infant food preparations.
Only in cases where the water has a higher concentration of nitrates, it is advisable to use mineral water to prepare bottles and papillae for infants.
Even knowing this, if you’re a parent, you may still hesitate to give your baby tap water.
The best solution to stay calm, or to give your baby water from any faucet without fear, is to use a water filter.
Waly OX-2 Glossy stainless steel filter neutralizes the taste of tap water, reduces minerals, but does not demineralize it completely, filters out lime, chlorine, microplastics, and other impurities that may be present in the water.
Unlike other similar filters, it is made of stainless steel and does not contain plastic.
To keep water always on hand and keep your baby well hydrated at all times, it’s best to always carry water in stainless steel or glass bottles, such as the Waly bottle Waly&Go 500ml to go and the Waly bottle Waly&Cool 1L to use at home.
They are ideal as they do not contain plastic and do not leave residue in the water!
