Here we present some of the innovative technologies to combat the lack of drinking water that we currently find most interesting.
SunSpringHybrid
There are parts of the world where the main problem is that the fresh water that is available is dirty, non-potable water. This situation has the consequence that people who consume it suffer poisoning and many health problems that can cause death. SunSpringHybrid is a portable water treatment plant that works with solar and wind energy and can treat up to 20,000 liters of water per day.
It seems to us a good proposal because its installation would allow us to have drinking water points in areas where running water is not drinkable.

It is another water purification system. It is a cone-shaped antimicrobial paper filter, it contains silver nanoparticles that kill bacteria and viruses, it also filters dirt and some parasites. With one filter you can filter 20 liters of water. It is a filtering system that does not require any type of electricity and has a very low price, but the resulting water treatment is not optimal.
Fogcatcher
This system allows the water from the fog to be collected using large pieces of vertical mesh. This mesh conducts the naturally condensed water droplets, coming from the atmospheric water vapour, towards a lower container that collects the water. It is a system that already has time, but it is a good technology for desert areas, with scarcity of water but with an abundance of fog. It is mainly used in desert areas of South America, Africa and some areas of the Middle East.

Life Straw is a single portable water filter. It works like a straw that filters the water as it sucks. Eliminates 99.9% of waterborne bacteria and protozoan parasites. It can filter up to 4,000 liters of contaminated water and does not require batteries or chemicals. It is not the best long-term alternative or to establish as a regular water filtering method, but it is a good alternative for specific moments, to take away, to use on trips and excursions where the potability of the water is not guaranteed.
