BOTTLE WATER vs TAP WATER
Don’t you know which water is best to drink? We’ll make it clear to you.
There are many theories about whether bottled water or tap water is better, and most of them are false.
Let’s see the real pros and cons of these waters:
We have collected information on tap water in Spain and this is a summary of the results:
Tap water from almost all Spanish provinces is of very high quality according to the OCU.
The key to determining water quality is that it is weakly mineralized, softly hard, and that the microbiological and chemical parameters are very low.
Only eight provinces have medium-quality water, and two provinces have low-quality but potable water.
It may seem that bottled water is more treated and controlled than tap water, but it is not so, tap water passes more sanitary controls than bottled water.
Tap water is more mineralized than bottled water. The hardness and mineralization of water are directly related to its taste, which is why sometimes tap water has a stronger taste than bottled water.
We have also collected information on the qualities of several brands of bottled water, most of which are weak or very weak mineralization and soft hardness, i. e. have little lime and few minerals.
A very weak mineralization is not good for everyone, only if you have a specific health problem is a very weak mineralization water suitable for you.
Bottled water has other problems: it contains microplastics and pollutes. These plastics seep into the water we drink through the plastic in the bottle and contain chemicals that are harmful to health. Tap water may also contain microplastics, but a suitable water filter can remove them all.
Which water is better to drink?
Bottled water contains fewer minerals and more plastics than tap water, and is more expensive and pollutes.
Tap water filtered with a tap filter: it tastes good, it’s healthy, it’s cheaper and it doesn’t pollute!
The tap water filter neutralizes the taste of tap water, reduces minerals, but does not demineralize it completely, it also filters lime, chlorine, microplastics, heavy metals and other water impurities.
Unlike other similar filters, it is made of stainless steel and does not contain plastic.
